Precious Memories of our darling son and brother
born on 5th march 1987, left us on 12th november 2001 At the age of fourteen LOVED AND MISSED SO VERY MUCH

Jamie collapsed and died in an english lesson at school. The teacher had asked for volonteers to see who could get the most marshmallows in there mouths, we beleived Jamie had choked but his death was put down to a heart attack from natural causes. To this day we cannot beleive such a fit and healthy boy could die this way.
Jamie was the sweetest most caring son any parent could wish for. He lived his life to the full, packing in so much that most people do in a life time, he loved sport especially fishing, football, rugby and windsurfing. Jamie,s dream was to become a airline pilot, and from 12 years old he wrote to all the airlines to get imformation on how to fullfill his dream.
Jamie was loved by everyone that met him from the young to the old.People used to say that jamie could lift the spirits of the most depressed person. He always had girlfriends from a young age, we were always told that he would break many hearts and that he certainly did. Two years after Jamie was born we were blessed with his little sister Jodie, jamie loved his little sister so much, he was like a little mother hen to her, wanting to help in every way to look after her, they were both so close.. Jamie loved school especially history and science lessons. We remember when we went to the parents evenings and the teachers said it is a privilidge to have jamie in our class, we wish all the pupils were like Jamie. We wanted to cry you made us proud in everything you did. Jamie loved helping his dad with DIY round the house but we will never forget the time we had a black car and you decided to paint it white.
Hundreds attented jamie's funeral, we couldent even have it in our church, because it wasnt going to be big enough. Jamie's dad read out a beautiful tribute, he didnt think he would be able to do it, but from somewhere he found the strenght. Two of his cousins read out poems, and the deputy head of his school read out a lovely tribute summing up just how wonderful jamie was and how he would be missed by hundreds of people. There wasnt a dry eye in the church, we were even told that judy the wonderful funeral director was in tears.

Jamie will be missed and loved forever by his heartbroken mum, dad, sister, nana,s, grandad,s, auntys, uncles, cousins and many friends. Jamie the day you left part of us went too, our lives will never be the same without you here, love you forever and ever.

PLEASE LIGHT A CANDLE SO WE KNOW YOU'VE BEEN, WE LOVE HEARING ABOUT THE MEMORIES THAT JAMIE'S FRIENDS HAVE OF HIM, THINGS THAT EVEN WE DID'NT KNOW

NEWSPAPER CUTTING PROUD DAD'S TRIBUTE TO TRAGIC JAMIE
A heartbroken father paid tribute to the son he hailed as, Jamie Bucknell, number one, simply the best. Keith Bucknell told hundreds of relatives and friends of a boy full of love and kindness when he addressed mourners at the 14 year old's funeral. Jamie died last week after suffering a massive heart attack. It had to be massive to have stopped that lad's heart, because his heart was massive, he said. I dont think it could hold anymore love. Mr Bucknell spoke through sobs to the village's packed church filled by well wishers. Among them were hundreds of jamie's school friends. The teenager died after collapsing in front of shocked school mates during a lesson. His father said he was always putting other peoples feelings first. He could'nt even leave the dinner table without thanking is mum for the meal, even if it was'nt very nice. Mr Bucknell continued He had such an amazing smile and infectious laugh, it sparkled so much it lit up the room. He had so many expectations and ambitions, but the biggest one he acheived with ease. That was to make me and his mum debbie proud, and oh, how proud he did make us. The gathering heard of a young man who was kind, generous, and loving, who was popular, conscientious and full of enjoyment for life. A manchester united supporter, he loved sport. A few weeks ago he was chuffed to bits because he made is debut in goal for strensall under 15's said Mr Bucknell. He saved a penalty and I was so proud, so pleased that i was there to share it with him. The family have received hundreds of cards and letters from well wishers including strangers. His father spoke of how muched he loved his sister Jodie and his girlfriend Helen. Helen and Jamie were so obvisously in love, it was a joy to see them togther he said. We\are so glad that he experienced and shared such a special love with you Helen.
